WSC Skill Awards Programme - Description

Purpose
The purpose of this program is to promote independent juggling practice for youth soccer players.

Awards
Players who attain levels of accomplishment are given WSC awards.

Basic Skill Awards Program

  • Players who successfully negotiate Levels 1 through 7 of the WSC Skill Awards program are awarded a Basic Skills Bag Tag.
  • Awards are mailed to qualifying players.
  • The Basic Award is restricted to players who are aged 14 and younger.


Advanced Skill Awards Program

  • Players who successfully negotiate Levels 8-10 of the WSC Skill Awards Program are awarded the Bronze Level Award.
  • Players will be recognized on the WSC web site and will receive a plaque recognizing this acheivment.
  • Any WSC registered player is eligible to receive the Bronze Award.

  • Players who successfully negotiate Levels 11 and 12 of the WSC Skill Awards Program are awarded the Silver Level Award.
  • Players will be recognized on the WSC web site and will receive a plaque recognizing this acheivment.
  • Any WSC registered player is eligible to receive the Silver Award.

  • Players who successfully negotiate Levels 13 and 14 of the WSC Skill Awards Program are awarded the Gold Level Award.
  • Players will be recognized on the WSC web site and will receive a plaque recognizing this acheivment.
  • Any WSC registered player is eligible to receive the Gold Award.


Process
The WSC Skill Awards process operates on the honor system.

  • Interested coaches or other adults download the skills check sheets from the WSC web site
  • Each skill is demonstrated via streaming video on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=OYSANSkillAwards)
  • The coach or other adult is responsible for verifying that their player has accomplished the required skills.
  • When a player qualifies for an award, the coach or other adult completes the information box on the check sheet and either...

                           a) E-mails the completed forms to WSC: wsctd@windsorsoccerclub.com; or
                           b) Faxes the completed forms to WSC Office (519) 253-9341; or
                           c) Mails the completed forms to: WSC 1215 Walker Rd. Unit 8, Windsor, On.  N8Y 2N9
